Strait Construction in Porirua, NZ, is a commercial and residential building contractor with over 30 years of hands-on experience delivering remediation, earthquake strengthening, recladding, new builds, and extensions across the Wellington region, including Upper Hutt and Lower Hutt.

Founded in 1994 by Robert Paulin, we have built a reputation on integrity, quality workmanship, and cost-effective solutions that are designed to last. WHO WE ARE

Our Managing Director Robert Paulin is a qualified Quantity Surveyor and holds licensed building practitioner qualifications in carpentry and site 2, covering buildings up to 10 storeys high. Rob has substantial experience in project management of commercial jobs and has been the driving force behind our growth in remediation and structural strengthening work since founding the company in 1994.
