The clients for this project commissioned Strait Construction to do a design-build extension and modernization of their property. After settling on a design solution involving extending their kitchen/dining/lounge area, exterior cladding replacement, new windows, new insulation and a roof rationalization that involved removing parapets and rationalizing the flat roof areas that were at the end of their life, the design was submitted to council for permit. Following receipt of the permit construction commenced on the extension so the clients could stay in the property over Christmas. After New Year the clients moved out, the scaffolding was erected, and the entire exterior cladding was removed for some timber reframe work and the bulk of the construction continued to close in. The clients added a new kitchen and decided to do a complete interior repaint among some other interior modernization that finished the house off to a thoroughly modern family home which they are very happy with.
