Light House Theatre. Pauatahanui
Strait Construction was contracted to turn a dilapidated community hall into the Light House Cinema at Pauatahanui. This development included:
2 theatres and a reception cafe area.
A number of unusual challenges were overcome during the build:
The building's propensity to flood
The difficulty of piling in close proximity to the sea and an adjacent creek,
Removing the existing T&G flooring in a state suitable to re-lay as the client whished to reuse this flooring to tie the new building in with the old.
This was an enjoyable project and is now a successful business catering to the local community.
