161 Willis street had been converted to apartments and 2 extra floors were added. These floors had issues in construction and weatherproofing.
Strait Construction completed a structural upgrade and refurbishment of the top 2 floors of 161 Willis Street with external access only and occupants in all of the lower floors.
Strait Construction was contracted to correct and replace:
Cladding
Windows
Seismic upgrade.
The building was occupied up to level 4 during this work.
Access was by way of external scaffold.
No ground floor site footprint.
An important objective of the project was to obtain a new Code Compliance Certificate. (ensureing that all outstanding issues from previous consents were addressed.)
